What Is a Fluted Bathroom Vanity? Grooves and Cabinet Materials
A fluted bathroom vanity has narrow vertical grooves running down the doors or drawer fronts, so light and shadow give the cabinet texture without extra decoration. The same look is also called ribbed or reeded. Inside, it works like any other vanity: the storage, top and plumbing are the same.
The board under the fluted fronts decides how the cabinet copes with water. Most fluted vanities in this range are PVC, and a few are MDF or plywood.
Wipe along the grooves with a soft, damp cloth, not across them.
Avoid abrasive cleaners and scourers.

Wall Hung or Freestanding Fluted Vanities
A wall hung fluted vanity suits a bathroom where the waste can come out of the wall, and a freestanding fluted vanity suits a floor waste you would rather not move. In this range, about five in six fluted vanities are wall hung, so the freestanding choice is narrower.

Fluted vanity sizes in this range run from 400mm to 1800mm wide, but depth decides whether a vanity fits a narrow room. Measure from the wall to the door swing or shower screen first, then use the table below to find the series with the right depth.

Which Fluted Vanity Fits Your Bathroom?
If the room is a powder room or toilet room, choose a 400mm or 450mm model at 220mm to 255mm deep.
If the ensuite is narrow but you want two drawers, choose Eden Slimline at 360mm deep.
If your waste comes out of the floor and you do not want to move it, choose Brighton or a freestanding Rhea.
If you want a bench wide enough for an above counter basin and toiletries, choose Artis, Artis-S or Avalon at about 500mm deep.
If two people get ready at the same time, choose a double bowl at 1200mm or wider.
If the vanity will be splashed every day, choose a PVC series rather than MDF or plywood.
Fluted Vanity Storage: Drawers, Doors and Rounded Ends
Many fluted vanities in this range store everything in drawers rather than behind doors, which makes the full depth easy to reach. The main differences are where the plumbing goes and whether the ends are square or rounded.
Brindabella and Brighton let you choose left-hand or right-hand drawers at checkout, to work around your waste.
Estella has rounded ends that are working soft-close drawers, and the fluting wraps around them. It arrives fully assembled.
Artis-S hides a small internal drawer inside the main drawer, and the 1800mm Artis has four drawers, two under each basin.
Rome by Mercio has one drawer at 900mm; Ceto has one drawer and one cupboard with push-to-open.
The 400mm and 450mm compact models use a single door.

Fluted Vanity Finishes and Handles
Fluted vanity finishes in this range fall into oak tones, walnut, matte black and matte white.
Oak tones, lightest to darkest: Coastal Oak, then Classic Oak (warmer) and Natural Oak (cooler), then Prime Oak. Brooklyn adds Red Oak, the Mercio Rome adds Bur Oak and Aulic Varcelli adds Harvest Oak.
Walnut comes on Artis and Artis-S.
Matte black and matte white come on Brindabella, Brighton, Estella, Avalon, Rome and the Fluted 450mm Slimline.
Handles vary by series. Eden and Scandinavia offer five handle colours: matte white, matte black, brushed nickel, brushed gold and gun metal. Many fluted vanities in this range are sold as a cabinet with the top optional, so check what the price includes before you compare. Stone tops are cut to order for your basin and tap position, and custom stone tops cannot be refunded once ordered.

Eden, Avalon and Rome Curve offer tap holes at 10, 12 or 2 o'clock, or no hole, on above counter tops.
Brindabella and Brighton take an above counter or undermount stone top, chosen separately.
The Fluted 450mm Slimline arrives complete with a solid surface top, integrated basin and 32mm waste; Scandinavia comes with a poly marble basin top.

Are fluted vanities hard to clean?
Fluted vanities take a little more care than flat fronts, because dust and splashes can sit in the grooves. Wipe along the grooves with a soft, damp cloth rather than across them, and avoid abrasive cleaners and scourers. Most cabinets in this range are PVC, so splashes will not swell them. Are fluted vanities waterproof?
Most fluted vanities in this range are waterproof, because the cabinet is made from PVC rather than MDF or particleboard. That includes Eden, Artis, Avalon, Brindabella, Brighton, Estella, Rome and the 450mm compact models, and splashes will not swell these cabinets. A few series use other boards: Bellevue is MDF, Brooklyn is water-resistant plywood, and Rhea materials are listed on each product page. Can I pick up a fluted vanity in Melbourne or Brisbane?
Yes, for many models.
