FAQs

What is the main advantage of a Pivot Door over a Sliding Door?

While sliding doors are great for saving space, Pivot doors are chosen for Accessibility and Aesthetics.

  • Wider Entry: A pivot door swings open fully (usually 90 degrees), providing a much wider walkthrough space than a slider, which is always blocked by the fixed panel. This makes it ideal for larger people or those wanting a spacious feel.
  • Easier Cleaning: Pivot doors typically have no bottom track (or a very minimal one). This means there is no groove on the floor to trap soap scum, hair, and mould.
  • The "Swing" Factor: The trade-off is space. You must ensure you have clear floor space for the door to swing outwards without hitting the toilet, vanity, or towel rail.

Unlike sliding doors which need width to "stack," pivot doors can work in narrower spaces.

  • Minimum: We have pivot doors as narrow as 740mm - 900mm.
  • The Pivot Point: Note that the hinge is usually set back slightly from the edge (not right in the corner). This means a 900mm door might offer an actual entry width of approx 600mm-650mm.
  • Comparison: If your space is under 800mm, a Pivot door is usually a better choice than a Slider, as a Slider would leave you with a tiny, unusable entry gap.
How do I choose between Frameless and Semi-Frameless Pivot screens?

This depends on your budget and your desire for "minimalism."

  • Frameless Pivot:The Look: Features thick 10mm toughened glass held by heavy-duty hinges. There is no metal frame around the glass edges.Vibe: Ultra-modern, invisible, and architectural.Requirement: Requires stronger wall support and precise measurement.
  • Semi-Frameless Pivot:The Look: Features a slim metal perimeter frame for strength, but the door itself is frameless.Vibe: Neat and structured.Benefit: The frame offers "telescopic adjustment," making it much easier to install if your walls aren't perfectly straight.
Are Matte Black or Brushed Gold & Brushed Nickel sliding tracks durable?

Yes, but the quality of the finish is critical for moving parts.

  • Matte Black: We use high-grade electroplated or powder-coated finishes designed to withstand the friction of the rollers.Style Tip: Matte Black tracks create a stunning "picture frame" effect against white subway tiles.
  • Brushed Gold & Nickel: These are PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) or high-quality plated finishes. They are resistant to tarnishing and scratching.
  • Maintenance: To keep the track smooth and the colour vibrant, simply vacuum the bottom track regularly to remove dust/grit and wipe the top rail with warm soapy water. Avoid harsh chemical sprays on the coloured hardware.
Which finish is best for a "Mood" bathroom: Gun Metal or Brushed Nickel?

Both are trending alternatives to Chrome, but they suit different palettes.

  • Brushed Gun Metal: A dark, moody grey. It is perfect for "Industrial" or "Masculine" styles, pairing incredibly well with concrete-look tiles, dark timber vanities, and charcoal grout.
  • Brushed Nickel: A warm, soft silver. It is ideal for "Organic Modern" or "Coastal" bathrooms. It pairs beautifully with warm grey limestone, travertine, and light oak cabinetry. It is also excellent at hiding fingerprints!
Can I install a Pivot Door in a corner (L-Shape)?

Absolutely. You don't need a wall-to-wall niche.

  • The Configuration: You will need a "Front & Return" setup. This consists of the Pivot Door panel (front) and a Fixed Glass panel (side return).
  • The Join: In a frameless setup, these are joined by glass brackets. In a semi-frameless setup, they connect via a corner post.
  • Sizing: You can mix and match sizes. For example, a 1000mm Pivot Door front with a 900mm Return side is a very popular configuration for Australian renovations.
Does a Pivot Door leak water onto the floor when opened?

This is a valid concern, as the door swings outwards. However, we engineer ours to minimize this.

  • Under-Door Seals: Our frameless and semi-frameless pivot doors come with clear PVC "drip strips" or sweeps attached to the bottom of the glass. These direct water back into the tray/drain while the door is closed.
  • Magnetic Closure: Full-length magnetic seals ensure the door snaps shut tightly against the other panel, preventing spray from escaping during the shower.
  • User Tip: To keep your floor 100% dry, simply pause for a few seconds after turning the water off to let the droplets slide down the glass before swinging the door open.

Also, safety is our top priority for every product we ship.

  • AS/NZS 2208 Compliance: All our glass is manufactured to strict Australian Standards.
  • Toughened Safety Glass: We use 6mm (Semi-Frameless) or 10mm (Frameless) toughened glass.
  • Breakage Behaviour: If an accident occurs, the glass is designed to crumble into small, blunt granules rather than shattering into large, jagged shards. This significantly reduces the risk of injury for children and families.

Different Types of Shower Screens‏

Framed Shower Screens

The framed shower screen has an aluminum frame around each glass panel, including the door. It is supported on all four sides, which makes screens with very high stability.

Semi-frameless Shower Screens

Usually, only the door of the semi-frameless shower screen is frameless. If you want a modern look and don't want to spend a lot of money on frameless shower screens, then semi-frameless shower screens are an affordable option.

Frameless Shower Screens

The frameless shower screen has no frame. Instead, the glass panels are held together with carefully hidden hinges and hardware. A frameless shower screen will make the room look bigger, but their cost may be slightly higher, for frameless shower screens use high-quality hardware and hinges to ensure safety.

Except for the shower screens above, you can also choose bathtub shower screens and colored shower screens. The frame of shower screen is usually made of aluminum because it is corrosion resistant and does not rust.

The glass of shower screen is usually toughened glass, which has higher impact resistance. Match this with the best prices, the best customer service experience, and prompt delivery Australia-wide, and your renovation will be first class.
