FAQs

Should I choose a Sliding Door or a Pivot (Hinged) Door?

This decision is dictated entirely by your available floor space and bathroom layout.

  • Wall-to-Wall Sliding Doors:Best For: Small Bathrooms & Ensuites. Why: They have "zero swing." One panel slides behind the other, meaning you don't need to keep the floor area in front of the shower clear. Perfect if your vanity or toilet is positioned close to the shower entrance.
  • Pivot / Hinged Doors:Best For: Larger Bathrooms. Why: The door swings outwards into the room (usually opening 90 degrees). You need to ensure the door won't hit the towel rail, toilet, or glass entry door when opened. They offer a wider entry width and a luxurious, minimal look.
What is the difference between "Frameless" & "Semi-Frameless" screens?

This is a battle between aesthetics and budget/waterproofing.

  • Frameless Screens:The Look: Made from thick (10mm) toughened safety glass with minimal hardware (brackets/hinges only). No metal frame around the glass edges.Pros: The ultimate modern, open, and airy look. Easiest to clean as there are no frames for mould to grow in.Cons: Slightly higher price point; requires precise installation.
  • Semi-Frameless Screens:The Look: Usually has a slim metal frame around the perimeter (wall and floor) but the door itself is frameless.Pros: The frame provides excellent structural strength and superior water retention (less chance of leaks). More forgiving on walls that aren't perfectly straight.
How do I match the screen hardware to my tapware (Gold, Gunmetal, Nickel)?

Matching your metals is the key to a cohesive designer look.

  • Brushed Gold & Brushed Brass: Our gold hardware is designed to complement the warm, yellow tones of modern brass tapware. It adds a touch of luxury and warmth.
  • Brushed Nickel: A softer, warmer alternative to Chrome. It hides fingerprints better and pairs beautifully with stone tiles.
  • Brushed Gun Metal: The trendy choice for industrial or moody bathrooms. It is a dark, matte grey that offers contrast without the harshness of black.
  • Chrome: The timeless classic. Matches everything, is highly durable, and is the most cost-effective option.
Will a Matte Black shower screen scratch or peel?

Matte Black is stunning, but quality matters.

  • The Finish: Look for high-quality Electroplated or high-grade Powder Coated finishes. These are bonded to the aluminium frame to resist peeling in humid conditions.
  • Durability: While durable, matte black can show scratches if hit with sharp metal objects.
  • Cleaning Tip: Never use abrasive scourers or acidic cleaners on black frames. Warm soapy water and a soft cloth are all you need. Harsh chemicals can cause the matte finish to fade or look "chalky" over time.
What is a "Corner Entry" or "L-Shape" shower screen?

If your shower is in the corner of the room (with two tiled walls and two glass sides), you need a Corner solution.

  • L-Shape Pivot: Features one fixed glass "Return Panel" and one "Door Panel" that meet at a corner post (or with brackets).
  • Corner Sliding (Dual Slide): A brilliant space-saver where the doors open from the corner inwards.
  • Sizing: You can mix and match panel sizes. For example, if you have a rectangular shower base, you can pair a 1200mm Door Panel with a 900mm Return Panel to create the perfect L-Shape enclosure.
How do I measure for a "Wall-to-Wall" shower screen?

Accuracy is everything here. Do not just measure once!

  • The 3-Point Check: Measure the distance between your two tiled walls at three different heights:Bottom (near the floor/tray)Middle (approx 1000mm up)Top (approx 1900mm up)
  • Which number to use? Generally, you should select a door size based on the smallest measurement, but ensure the door's "adjustment range" covers your widest measurement. If the difference is huge (more than 20mm), you may need a custom solution.

Different Types of Shower Screens‏

Framed Shower Screens

The framed shower screen has an aluminum frame around each glass panel, including the door. It is supported on all four sides, which makes screens with very high stability.

Semi-frameless Shower Screens

Usually, only the door of the semi-frameless shower screen is frameless. If you want a modern look and don't want to spend a lot of money on frameless shower screens, then semi-frameless shower screens are an affordable option.

Frameless Shower Screens

The frameless shower screen has no frame. Instead, the glass panels are held together with carefully hidden hinges and hardware. A frameless shower screen will make the room look bigger, but their cost may be slightly higher, for frameless shower screens use high-quality hardware and hinges to ensure safety.

Except for the shower screens above, you can also choose bathtub shower screens and colored shower screens. The frame of shower screen is usually made of aluminum because it is corrosion resistant and does not rust.

The glass of shower screen is usually toughened glass, which has higher impact resistance. Match this with the best prices, the best customer service experience, and prompt delivery Australia-wide, and your renovation will be first class.

Shipping Shower Screens: Safety, Packing & Delivery

Shipping large sheets of glass across Australia sounds risky, but we do it every day. We use specialized packaging and trusted fragile-goods carriers to ensure your shower screen arrives in one piece.

Here is what you need to know about receiving your glass delivery.

1. Is it safe to ship glass? How is it packaged?

Answer:
This is our most common question! We take extreme precautions to protect your order.

  • The Packaging: Shower screens do not just come in a cardboard box. We strap them securely onto a timber pallet or a specialized A-Frame skid. This keeps the glass upright and prevents it from flexing or tipping during transit.
  • Reinforcement: We use heavy-duty corner protectors, styrofoam padding, and shrink wrap to create a buffer zone around the glass.
  • Success Rate: Thanks to these measures, over 99% of our glass deliveries arrive in perfect condition.

2. Can the driver bring the shower screen upstairs to my apartment?

Answer:
For safety and insurance reasons, the answer is No.

  • Curbside Delivery: Our service is strictly "Curbside" or to the ground-floor front door (if accessible).
  • OH&S Rules: A toughened glass panel can weigh 30kg - 50kg and is awkward to handle. Freight drivers are strictly prohibited from carrying glass up stairs, into lifts, or through tight hallways where a slip could cause injury.
  • Your Role: Please ensure you have two able-bodied people on-site to receive the delivery and carefully move the glass inside.

3. What happens if the glass breaks during transit?

Answer:
While rare, accidents can happen on Australian roads. We cover you with Full Transit Insurance.

  • The "24-Hour" Golden Rule: You must inspect the package within 24 hours of arrival.
  • Visual Check: Look for any crushing on the box or the sound of "rattling" glass inside.
  • The Process: If you suspect damage, take photos of the packaging before opening it, and photos of the damage inside. Email these to us immediately. We will send a replacement panel free of charge.
  • Important: Do not try to install a chipped or damaged panel, as this voids the warranty.

4. Can I leave the shower screen in the box until my renovator starts?

Answer:
Yes, but you must store it correctly to preventing spontaneous breakage.

  • Store Vertically: NEVER lay a glass pack flat on the floor. Toughened glass is designed to be strong on its face but weak on its edges. Laying it flat puts stress on the center and can cause it to shatter.
  • Lean Safely: Always store the box standing up (vertically), leaning gently against a flat wall, on a non-slip surface (like carpet or timber, not bare concrete).
  • Keep Packed: Keep the cardboard corner protectors on until the very last moment of installation.

5. Do you ship shower screens to regional areas (e.g., Regional QLD/WA)?

Answer:
Yes, we ship Australia-wide, but freighting glass to remote areas requires specialized handling.

  • Transit Times: Please allow extra time (often 7-14 business days) for regional deliveries, as the goods may be transferred to a local depot that specializes in fragile freight.
  • Depot Collection: In some very remote locations where home delivery trucks cannot access, we may offer a "Depot Pick Up" option which can be faster and more affordable.
