LED Mirrors

LED bathroom mirrors light your face evenly and stay clear after a hot shower, because every mirror in this collection is anti-fog. About three quarters have a metal frame in matte black, brushed gold, brushed nickel or gun metal; the rest are frameless, backlit or front-lit. Shapes include round (600–900mm), oval and pill, arch, square and rectangle, from 450mm up to 1500mm wide. Many models switch on by touch or motion sensor, and every model lets you change between warm and cool light. Need storage behind the glass? Backlit, Front-Lit or Framed LED Mirrors

A backlit LED mirror throws a soft halo onto the wall, a front-lit LED mirror shines light through the glass onto your face, and a framed LED mirror builds the light into a metal frame. Choose front-lit for shaving and make-up, backlit for a calm glow around the vanity, and framed when you want the edge to match your tapware.

A front-lit LED mirror puts even light on your face, which suits a vanity used for grooming. A backlit LED mirror spreads light around the glass, so the vanity area looks finished without extra wall lights.

How Anti-Fog Works on LED Bathroom Mirrors

Every LED mirror in this collection is anti-fog, but it works in two ways. About five in six models have a heated demister pad behind the glass that warms the centre so steam cannot settle. The rest use anti-fog coated glass with no heater. For a very steamy bathroom, choose a model with a pad.

  • Demister pad: all Mercio models (Venus, Maia, Luna), every framed Lukka and Poseidon model, and all BH models.
  • Coated glass, no pad: backlit Lukka Rectta, Arco, Ellips and Orbis, and frameless Poseidon Jasper, Luna, Olivia and Aura.
  • Pad size: a pad clears the centre, not the whole glass. On the Maia 900mm round it is 400 x 400mm; on the Venus 1200 x 750mm it is 300 x 500mm.
  • Auto-off: Venus and Maia demister pads switch themselves off after 1 hour.

Every LED mirror here also uses copper-free glass, which resists the black edges that humidity can cause on standard mirrors.

LED Mirror Sizes to Match Your Vanity

An LED mirror should be the same width as the vanity below it, or a little narrower, with its centre near eye level. A vanity of 1200mm or wider can take one wide LED mirror or two narrow ones side by side, one over each basin.

1500mm vanity to 1800mm double1500mmRectta 1500 x 800mm; Mercio Luna 1500 x 750mm; Arco 1500 x 1000mm

A 900mm round LED mirror needs at least 900mm of clear wall between the splashback or tapware and the ceiling. Measure that height before you order.

Round, Oval, Arch or Rectangle LED Mirrors

Round LED mirrors soften a room full of straight lines, oval and pill LED mirrors give a tall reflection on a narrow wall, arch LED mirrors add height, and rectangle LED mirrors give two people the most glass. Choose the shape by wall space first, then by style.

  • Round: 600mm to 900mm across, with the most framed choices. Compare all round mirrors.
  • Oval and pill: 450–600mm wide and 900–1000mm tall, so they fit between wall taps, niches or wall lights. See oval and pill mirrors.
  • Arch: 600 x 900mm in Venus, Maia, Arco, Aura and Mercio Luna. The Arco half moon at 1200mm and 1500mm wide has a flat base that lines up with the vanity or a tile line. See arch mirrors.
  • Rectangle and square: from 700 x 500mm up to 1500 x 800mm. Jasper rectangles can hang portrait or landscape.

Framed LED Mirror Finishes and Matching Tapware

A framed LED mirror looks most deliberate when its frame matches your tapware finish. Most framed LED models here come in all four finishes, so choose the basin mixer and shower set first, then the mirror frame in the same finish.

Using chrome or another finish? A frameless LED mirror has a plain glass edge that sits with any tapware colour.

How LED Mirrors Switch On: Touch, Motion Sensor and Power

An LED mirror switches on by touch, by motion sensor or by a touchless wave sensor, and it needs power at the wall before you tile. Mercio LED mirrors are hardwired by a licensed electrician. Lukka, Poseidon and BH LED mirrors can be hardwired or plugged into a power point behind or beside the mirror.

  • Motion sensor (Mercio Venus and Maia): lights up when you come within about 1.5–2m and switches off about 60 seconds after you leave. A long press of the demister button turns the sensor off.
  • Touchless sensor (Mercio Luna): wave a hand in front of the sensor to switch the light on or off.
  • Touch control (Lukka, BH): tap to switch on and change the light colour.
  • Light colour: Lukka, Poseidon and BH models switch between warm 3000K, cool white 4000K and daylight 6000K. Mercio Luna uses 2800K, 4000K and 6000K. Venus and Maia adjust from 2700K to 6500K and remember your last setting.

In Sydney, our mirror installation service hangs the mirror for you. Wiring is always done by a licensed electrician.

Quick picks

  • If you shave or do make-up at the mirror, choose a front-lit model such as BH Round or Mercio Venus.
  • If your bathroom fills with steam, choose a model with a demister pad: any Mercio, or any framed Lukka or Poseidon.
  • If you do not want to touch the mirror with wet hands, choose a motion sensor Venus or Maia, or the touchless Mercio Luna.
  • If you want plug-in power without new wiring, choose a Lukka, Poseidon or BH model and have a power point placed near the mirror.
  • If you want storage behind the glass, choose an LED shaving cabinet instead.
  • If you want a mirror without lights, browse all bathroom mirrors.

LED Mirrors FAQs

Are LED mirrors worth it for a bathroom?

For most bathrooms, yes. An LED mirror lights your face from the vanity, so you can see clearly for shaving and make-up without relying on a ceiling light. Every LED mirror in this collection is anti-fog, and every one uses copper-free glass that resists black edges in a humid room. The trade-off is planning: you need power at the wall before tiling, and some models must be hardwired by a licensed electrician. Start with the mirror width that suits your vanity, then pick the light style and finish, from round LED mirrors to tall pills.

Do LED mirrors need to be hardwired, or can they be plugged in?

It depends on the model. Mercio LED mirrors, including Venus, Maia and Luna, come with a 1.2m cable for hardwiring, which a licensed electrician must connect. Lukka, Poseidon and BH LED mirrors can be hardwired or plugged into a power point behind or beside the mirror; Lukka models come with a 1m lead. Either way, plan the power position before tiling so the cable stays hidden. In Sydney, our mirror installation service hangs the mirror, and wiring is always done by a licensed electrician.

What is the difference between a backlit and a front-lit LED mirror?

A backlit LED mirror has its light strip behind the glass, so it throws a soft halo onto the wall and the mirror seems to float. A front-lit LED mirror shines light through the glass toward you, which gives brighter, direct light on your face. In this collection, Lukka Rectta, Arco, Ellips and Orbis, Poseidon Jasper and Luna, and Mercio Luna are backlit. BH Round, Rectangle and Bill, and Mercio Venus, are front-lit. If the mirror is your main light for shaving or make-up, choose front-lit. If you want mood light, choose backlit.

What are the downsides of LED mirrors?

An LED mirror needs power planned before you tile, and Mercio models need a licensed electrician to connect them. A demister pad clears the centre of the glass, not the whole surface; on the Maia 900mm round the pad is 400 x 400mm. Mirrors without a pad use anti-fog coated glass, which suits a well-ventilated bathroom better than a very steamy one. Warranty terms are listed on each product page. If you mainly need storage, an LED shaving cabinet gives you light and shelves in one unit.
