1800mm Shaving Cabinets

An 1800mm shaving cabinet spans the whole width of a double vanity, so one mirror covers both basins and nothing sits stranded in the middle of the wall. Our 1800mm cabinets are from the Hera range: 1800mm wide, 780mm high and 150mm deep, with four mirrored doors that close softly and adjustable shelves inside. Choose pale Tas Oak, warmer Elegant Oak or dark Black Oak, all built from moisture-resistant MDF. Match one to an 1800mm vanity, find a timber-look partner in oak vanities, or compare 1500mm shaving cabinets if your wall is shorter. Every other size is in our full shaving cabinets range.

1800mm Shaving Cabinet FAQs

▸ What size mirror cabinet suits an 1800 vanity?

On an 1800mm double vanity, an 1800mm cabinet gives one continuous mirror from end to end, and each basin gets its own pair of doors. If the wall is tight, or a shower screen or door frame sits close to the vanity, a 1500mm cabinet centred over it leaves about 150mm of bare wall at each end, which looks deliberate. Going narrower than 1500mm rarely works, because a short cabinet over a long bench looks undersized. Compare 1500mm shaving cabinets, or plan both pieces with our 1800mm vanities.

▸ How much storage does an 1800mm Hera cabinet hold?

Each one has four mirrored doors across the front with adjustable shelves behind, so you can set tall bottles on one level and small items on another. On a double vanity that splits neatly into two doors per person, with no fighting over shelf space. At 150mm deep it takes standard toiletries without pushing far into the room, and at 780mm high it covers the usual mirror zone above the bench. Shelf layout and any extra open shelf are listed on each product page, so check the model you want before ordering.

▸ Which Hera finish should I choose?

All three use moisture-resistant MDF with a woodgrain finish, so the choice comes down to colour and contrast. Tas Oak is the lightest, a pale grain that keeps the room bright against white or light grey tiles. Elegant Oak sits a shade warmer with a honey tone, and works well next to brass or black tapware. Black Oak is the dark choice and makes a strong statement on a pale wall. For a matching base, Hera vanities are also made in 1800mm, so look for the same finish name in our oak vanities.

▸ What should I check on the wall before ordering?

Start with clear width. Measure between the actual obstructions, such as a shower screen return, a side wall or a window reveal, and make sure you have the full 1800mm plus a small margin. Then check the bathroom door does not swing into the cabinet when open. Next, think about fixing: a cabinet this long should be screwed into studs or noggins along its width rather than relying on plasterboard alone. Plan for two people to lift and level it, and check the delivery path through hallways and stairs before it arrives.

▸ Is MDF suitable for a bathroom shaving cabinet?

Moisture-resistant MDF copes with everyday bathroom steam, provided the room has an exhaust fan and the cabinet is not hit by running water. Above a vanity is exactly that kind of spot. Wipe splashes off the edges rather than letting them sit, and do not install it inside a shower zone. If your bathroom has little ventilation, or you want a fully waterproof body, look at our PVC cabinets instead. Our PVC models currently go up to 1500mm wide, and you can filter them in shaving cabinets.
