Small Baths (1000–1300mm)

A small bath has to earn its floor space. This range covers 1000mm to 1300mm lengths, so there is a size for a narrow ensuite, a laundry conversion or a bathroom where the shower takes most of the wall. Most of these are corner baths with a skirt and a left or right hand option, which lets the tub sit tight against two walls with no tiling underneath. The Stanford triangle corner baths at 1000mm and 1200mm fit where a rectangle will not. If you want a freestanding look in a small room, the Iseo 1200mm oval is the shortest freestanding bath we stock. Need more length? See our 1400mm baths, and pair any of these with a bath spout.

Small Baths (1000–1300mm) FAQs

What is the smallest bath you can buy?

The shortest baths in this range are 1000mm long: the Bingie Mini corner bath, the Harvard 1000mm rectangular corner bath and the Stanford 1000mm triangle corner bath. All three are acrylic, come in gloss white and have an overflow. At this length an adult sits upright rather than lying back, so a 1000mm bath suits a child's bathroom or a bathroom where the bath is used occasionally. If you can spare another 300mm of wall, the 1300mm options are noticeably easier for an adult to use.

Is a 1300mm bath too small for an adult?

A 1300mm bath is short for lying flat, but it works well for a sit-up soak, and it is the most common length we sell under 1400mm. The Casey 1300mm corner bath comes in two heights, 520mm and 580mm, so you can pick the deeper one if you want more water around you. The Bingie 1300mm corner bath has a skirt and comes with or without an overflow. If the room allows 1400mm, go up a size; the difference in leg room is larger than 100mm suggests.

Should I choose a left hand or right hand corner bath?

Stand in the doorway and look at the corner where the bath will go. If the long side of the bath runs along the wall to your left, you need a left hand bath. If it runs to your right, choose right hand. Most corner baths in this range come in both versions, so the choice depends on the room, not the model. Check the product listing for the exact footprint before ordering, because a corner bath cannot be flipped on site.

Can I get a small freestanding bath?

Yes. The Iseo Ultra Slim oval freestanding bath comes in 1200mm and is the shortest freestanding bath we stock. It has a thin edge and an overflow, and because it stands clear of the wall it needs a floor-mounted or wall-mounted spout. The Iseo Ultra Slim oval and pill version starts at 1300mm and runs up to 1700mm if you later want the same shape in a bigger room. For more freestanding options see the 1400mm and 1500mm ranges.

Does a small bath need an overflow?

An overflow drains water away before it reaches the rim, so you can fill the bath with the tap running and walk away for a moment. Most baths in this range include one; the Bingie 1300mm is sold both ways, so check the listing. Without an overflow you can fill the bath higher, which some people prefer in a short tub. The pop-up waste is sold separately in chrome, matte black, brushed gold, brushed nickel, gunmetal and gloss white.
