6mm and 10mm toughened glass

Shower Screens

Our shower screens cover frameless and semi frameless glass for every common layout: corner shower screens, wall to wall screens for an alcove, bath shower screens and fixed walk-in panels. Doors slide or pivot, and most screens adjust within a size range, with openings from 700mm up to 2530mm. Finishes run from chrome and matte black to brushed gold, nickel, gun metal, bronze and brass. Not sure your opening will fit? Call our renovation expert team on 0480 746 325 before you order. Pickup is free in Sydney, and Covey screens can also be collected from Rocklea, Brisbane.

Shower Screen Types: Layout, Door and Frame

A shower screen comes down to three choices: the layout of your shower, the way the door opens, and how much frame holds the glass. Layout comes first, because your walls and shower base already decide it. The door and the frame then depend on floor space, look and budget.

Which Shower Screen Fits Your Bathroom?

  • If your shower sits in a recess between two walls, choose a wall to wall screen.
  • If your shower is open on one side, choose a corner screen with a return panel.
  • If a vanity, toilet or towel rail sits close to the shower, choose a sliding door.
  • If your opening is wider than about 1540mm, choose a sliding screen, because the pivot doors in this range stop there.
  • If you want no door at all, choose a fixed walk-in panel.
  • If you shower over a bath, choose a bath panel.

Adjustable Shower Screens and Size Ranges

Most shower screens in this range are adjustable. Each size option covers a span of widths instead of one exact figure, and the wall channels take up the difference, along with walls that lean slightly out of plumb. The glass itself cannot be cut, drilled or trimmed once it is made, so the adjustment always comes from the channels.

  • Covey screens make up about three fifths of the range. On the Covey semi frameless models the wall channels adjust up to 20mm on each side. The Covey frameless sliders take up to 10mm with the standard channel, or 20mm with the wider channel option.
  • BH screens are listed as ranges too, for example 770 to 900mm on the semi frameless pivot doors.
  • Curved and diamond screens fit within about 10mm either side of their set size. Bath panels and walk-in panels come in fixed widths.
  • Every screen is sold as a complete set. Hinges, brackets and handles are not sold separately.

Measure the opening at the top, middle and bottom, then order the range that contains the smallest figure. If that figure sits between two ranges, call our renovation expert team on 0480 746 325 before you order, or ask how to measure at home.

Shower Screen Sizes by Opening Width

Shower screen sizes here run from a 300mm fixed panel to a 2530mm three panel slider. The width of your opening narrows the choice quickly: pivot doors stop at about 1540mm, and above 2250mm only the frameless 3 panel slider fits. The table shows what fits each width in the models below.

Opening widthWhat fitsWorth knowing
Under 900mmWalk-in panels from 300mm, semi frameless pivot doors from 700mm, 3 door sliders from 840mm, corner entry and curved screens from 800mm a side, and diamond screens from 900mmA 3 door slider leaves a way in of about 400mm on its smallest size
900 to 1540mmPivot and sliding doors, frameless or semi framelessThe widest choice of layouts and finishes
1540 to 2000mmSliding doors only: semi frameless sliders to 1750mm, BH frameless sliders to 1800mm, Covey frameless sliders to 2000mm, and centre opening sliders from 1400mmCentre opening doors part in the middle, which suits a recess where a bath used to be
2000 to 2530mmSemi frameless centre opening sliders up to 2250mm, and frameless 3 panel sliders from 2000 to 2530mm3 panel screens between 1400 and 2000mm are made to measure

Height differs as well. Most Covey screens stand 2000mm high, some BH semi frameless models stand 1900mm, the arched fixed panels stand 2200mm, and the bath panels stand 1450mm. For a long recess, start with the chrome frameless 3 panel sliding shower screen.

Framed, Semi Frameless or Frameless Shower Screens

We do not sell traditional fully framed shower screens, the kind with a thick frame around every panel. Three models here do have a full frame: the BH matte black 900/1000mm corner pivot door screen, the Covey diamond screens and the Covey black grid glass door. The rest of the range splits about evenly between semi frameless and frameless.

  • A semi frameless screen uses 6mm toughened glass with a slim aluminium frame along the walls and track. It is the closer match if you are replacing an old framed screen. Compare them in semi frameless shower screens.
  • A frameless screen uses 10mm toughened glass held by hinges, wall channels or a stainless steel top rail, with no frame around the glass.

Shower Screen Finishes and Matching Tapware

Shower screen hardware here comes in seven finishes, though not every finish comes in every frame type. Chrome and matte black have the most models, in both frameless and semi frameless. Brushed brass and brushed bronze come on frameless screens only. Match the screen to your shower mixer and rail so the two read as one set.

FinishFrame typesShare of the rangeLook
ChromeFrameless and semi framelessAbout a quarterMatches the chrome tapware already in most bathrooms

Some layouts, such as the semi frameless centre opening, 3 door, curved and diamond screens, come in chrome and matte black only. Once you pick a finish, look for the shower mixer in the same colour, such as black tapware for a matte black screen.

Shower Screens FAQs

What type of shower screen is best?

The best shower screen type is the one that suits your layout and floor space. A wall to wall screen suits a recess between two walls, and a corner screen suits a shower that is open on one side. Choose a sliding door when a vanity or toilet sits close by, and a pivot door when you have clear floor and want a wider way in. Frameless 10mm glass shows the least metal, while semi frameless 6mm glass costs less. Start with wall to wall shower screens or corner shower screens.

Are shower screens adjustable?

Most shower screens in our range are adjustable within a size range. Each option covers a span of widths, such as 870 to 890mm or 770 to 900mm, and the wall channels take up the difference along with walls that lean. On Covey semi frameless screens the channels adjust up to 20mm on each side. The glass cannot be cut or trimmed, so a screen cannot be made smaller on site. Curved, diamond, bath and walk-in panels come in set sizes. Measure your opening at three heights and order the range that holds the smallest figure, or browse sliding shower screens for the widest ranges.

How do I measure for a shower screen?

Measure a shower screen opening at the top, middle and bottom, because tiled walls are rarely straight. Use the smallest figure and order the size range that contains it. For a wall to wall screen, measure between the two walls. For a corner screen, measure the door side and the return side from the wall to the outer edge of the shower base or hob. Curved and diamond screens need a base that matches their set size within about 10mm. If your figure sits between two ranges, call our renovation expert team on 0480 746 325 before you order.

Does a shower screen come with a shower base?

No. The shower screens in our range do not include a shower base, tray, drain or tapware. Plan the base or tiled hob first, because the screen sits on it and the layout depends on its shape. A square or rectangular base suits a wall to wall or corner screen, a quarter round base needs a curved screen, and a five-sided base needs a diamond screen. The arched fixed panels install straight onto a tiled floor or base. Choose your shower mixer in the same finish as the screen, for example from our wall mixer sets.

Are bath shower screens a standard size?

Bath shower screens have no single standard size, but ours come in one size: a 10mm toughened glass panel 700mm wide and 1450mm high. The panel can be fitted on the left or the right end of the bath, so the same screen works whichever side your shower mixer sits on. It comes in chrome, matte black, brushed gold, brushed nickel and gun metal, so you can match it to your bath spout and shower rail. Measure the length of bath you want covered before you order, then compare the five finishes in bath shower screens.

Do you sell framed shower screens?

We do not sell traditional fully framed shower screens, where a thick frame runs around every panel. Three models in our range do have a full frame: the BH matte black 900/1000mm corner pivot door screen, the Covey diamond screens and the Covey black grid glass door. Everything else is semi frameless, with a slim aluminium frame along the walls and track, or frameless, with no frame around the glass. If you are replacing an old framed screen, a semi frameless shower screen is the closest match in look and price, and it adjusts to fit walls that lean.

How much does a shower screen cost?

A shower screen's price depends on the frame type, the layout, the size and the finish. Semi frameless screens in 6mm glass cost less than frameless screens in 10mm glass. A 3 panel or centre opening slider for a wide recess costs more than a single door, and brushed finishes usually cost more than chrome. On some corner screens the return panel is priced as an option on top of the door. Check the current price of each model on this page. In Sydney metro, installation is $329 for semi frameless and $429 for frameless, and the actual amount is the one shown at checkout.

Do you deliver shower screens to Perth?

Yes. We deliver shower screens to Perth and other areas, with freight calculated from your postcode at checkout. Free metro delivery on shower screens applies in Sydney only, on orders over $2,000. Every screen can be collected free in Sydney, and Covey screens can also be collected free in Rocklea, Brisbane. Toughened glass cannot be cut on site, so measure your opening at the top, middle and bottom before you order, or call our renovation expert team on 0480 746 325 to check the size range. Glass is checked before dispatch, and you should inspect it on delivery before signing.
