Frameless Bathroom Mirror Ranges Compared

Our frameless bathroom mirrors come from six ranges, and each range suits a different wall. Lukka Orbis and Rectta are the only ranges with a choice of pencil or bevelled edge. Arco, Ellips, Poseidon and BH come in pencil edge only. Use the table to pick a range, then compare sizes on this page.

Pencil Edge or Bevelled Edge Frameless Mirrors

A pencil edge frameless mirror has its edge ground smooth and slightly rounded, so the glass ends in a slim, quiet line that is safe to touch. A bevelled edge frameless mirror has a wider border ground at an angle. The bevel catches the light and gives the glass a frame-like outline without an actual frame.

  • Choose pencil edge for a minimal wall, a busy tile pattern, or any arch or oval shape, as those come in pencil edge only.
  • Choose bevelled edge for a plain wall where you want the edge itself to add detail.
  • Price: in the Orbis and Rectta ranges, the bevelled version of a size costs the same as the pencil version or a little more.
  • Corners: the Rectta, BH and Poseidon rectangles we checked have R20 radius corners, so the corners are softened in both edge styles.

Sizing and Hanging a Frameless Mirror Over Your Vanity

A frameless mirror usually looks best at the same width as the vanity or a little narrower, hung so its centre sits roughly at eye level. Our bathroom mirrors guide has a full vanity-width table. The points below apply to the frameless shapes on this page.

  • The BH rectangles and the Poseidon 1500×900mm can be mounted horizontally or vertically, so one size can suit two layouts.
  • The Rectta 500×1000mm is a tall, narrow rectangle for a slim wall.
  • An Arco half moon has a flat base and a full curved top. The flat edge lines up with the vanity or a splashback tile line, and the 1000mm height of the largest model keeps the curve above eye level for most people.
  • Two 600×900mm Ellips pill mirrors side by side suit a 1200mm to 1500mm double vanity, with one mirror over each basin.

Which Frameless Mirror Fits Your Bathroom?

  • If your vanity is 600mm to 750mm wide, choose a 600mm round Orbis or Poseidon mirror.
  • If you have a 1200mm to 1500mm vanity and want one piece of glass, choose a 1200×900mm Rectta.
  • If you have a 1500mm to 1800mm double vanity, choose the 1500×1000mm Arco half moon, and match the width in our 1500mm vanities.
  • If wall taps, a niche or wall lights leave only a narrow wall, choose an Ellips oval pill.
  • If the mirror fogs after every shower or the vanity needs light, choose one of our LED mirrors instead, as all of them are anti-fog.
  • If you need storage behind the mirror, choose one of our shaving cabinets.
  • If you want the mirror edge to repeat your tapware colour, choose one of our framed bathroom mirrors.

Copper-Free Glass and Black Edges in Frameless Bathroom Mirrors

Copper-free glass helps a frameless bathroom mirror resist black edges. Black edges appear when moisture reaches the silver layer behind the glass, and a frameless mirror has no frame covering that edge. Most mirrors on this page use copper-free glass, and the Lukka ranges add a protective safety backing.

  • Keep the bathroom well ventilated so steam does not sit on the glass.
  • Wipe splashes off the edges rather than letting them dry there.
  • Avoid ammonia or acidic cleaners on the edges.
  • Check each listing for its glass: it states whether the mirror is copper-free and whether it has a safety backing.

Installing a Frameless Bathroom Mirror Without Drilling

A frameless bathroom mirror from this collection hangs without drilling. Each one is a glue-on mirror, fixed straight to the wall with neutral cure silicone for a flush, floating look. Follow the steps below and the instructions on each listing.

  • Use a neutral cure silicone, such as Bostik V60. Acid cure silicone attacks the mirror backing.
  • Apply the silicone in vertical strips across the back, so air can circulate and the glue cures evenly.
  • Check the box when it arrives. Lukka mirrors ship in a mailbox package with honeycomb protection, timber corner strips and an outer carton; report any transit damage within 48 hours.
  • Installation in Sydney: we can hang the mirror for you, at $70 for mirrors up to 900mm wide and $100 for mirrors 1200mm to 1500mm wide. Prices may change slightly, and the final amount is shown at checkout.

Delivery, Pickup and Viewing for Frameless Mirrors

Frameless mirrors from this collection ship Australia-wide, with freight calculated at checkout. You can also collect any of them free from our Sydney warehouses, and the Poseidon models free from Melbourne. Viewing is offered in Sydney only, by appointment.

  • Sydney: pick-up from our Sydney warehouses is free and needs no booking. To see a mirror before you buy, call 0480 746 325 to view it by appointment.
  • Melbourne: the Poseidon mirrors, about a fifth of this range, can be picked up free from Dandenong South (VIC).
  • Other cities: free metro delivery applies on orders over $2,000 in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra, $2,500 in Brisbane and Adelaide, and $3,200 in Perth. A mirror alone will not reach these amounts, so it is worth ordering it with your vanity.

The RJ Bathroom team in Sydney wrote this guide from the product listings in this collection. If a listing and this guide ever differ, the listing is correct, and you can call us to check before you order.

Frameless Mirrors FAQs

Are frameless mirrors a good choice for a bathroom?

Yes, as long as the glass suits a humid room. A frameless mirror has no frame to clash with your tapware, so it suits any finish, and it glues flat to the wall for a clean, floating look. Most mirrors on this page use copper-free glass, and many add a safety backing, which helps resist the black edges that standard mirrors can develop in a steamy bathroom. Good ventilation and wiping splashes off the edges help too. If the mirror fogs after every shower, an LED mirror with anti-fog is the better choice.

What is the difference between a pencil edge and a bevelled edge mirror?

A pencil edge mirror has its edge ground smooth and slightly rounded, giving a slim, minimal line that is safe to touch. A bevelled edge mirror has a wider border ground at an angle, which catches the light and gives the glass a frame-like outline without a frame. On this page, bevelled edges come in Lukka Orbis rounds and Rectta rectangles, and they cost the same as the pencil version or a little more. Choose pencil for a quiet wall, or bevelled if you want the edge to add detail, like the Rectta 1200×900mm bevelled mirror.

Can I hang a frameless mirror without drilling?

Yes. The frameless mirrors on this page are glue-on mirrors, so they fix straight to the wall with neutral cure silicone instead of screws or brackets. Use a neutral cure product such as Bostik V60, applied in vertical strips across the back so air can circulate and the glue cures evenly. Do not use acid cure silicone, because the acid attacks the mirror backing. In Sydney, we can hang it for you: installation is $70 for mirrors up to 900mm wide and $100 for 1200mm to 1500mm. Prices may change slightly, and the final amount is shown at checkout.

What size frameless mirror suits my vanity?

Choose a frameless mirror the same width as your vanity or a little narrower, and hang it so its centre sits roughly at eye level. A 600mm round suits a 600mm to 750mm vanity. A 1200×900mm Rectta spans a 1200mm to 1500mm vanity in one piece, and the 1500×1000mm Arco half moon suits a 1500mm to 1800mm double vanity. For a mirror over each basin, two 600×900mm Ellips pill mirrors suit a 1200mm to 1500mm double vanity. Match the width in our 1500mm vanities or see our full bathroom mirrors range.

Do you deliver frameless mirrors to Melbourne and Perth?

Yes. Frameless mirrors ship Australia-wide, including Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth, with freight calculated at checkout. In Melbourne, the Poseidon mirrors on this page, about a fifth of the range, can also be picked up free from Dandenong South (VIC). Free metro delivery applies on orders over $3,200 in Perth, $2,500 in Brisbane and Adelaide, and $2,000 in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra. A mirror alone will not reach these amounts, so it is worth adding it to a vanity order. In Sydney, pick-up from our warehouses is free and needs no booking.
