Corner Shower Screen Layouts: L-Shape, Corner Entry, Curved and Diamond

A corner shower screen comes in four layouts, and the shape of your shower base decides most of the choice. A square or rectangular base suits an L-shape or corner entry screen. A quarter-round base needs a curved screen. A five-sided base needs a diamond screen.

Corner shower screens in this collection do not include a shower base, tray or drain, so check the base you have, or plan the one you will buy, before you pick a layout. Over a corner bath, you want bath shower screens instead.

Sliding or Pivot Doors for a Corner Shower Screen

A sliding door on a corner shower screen stays inside the line of the glass, so it suits a small bathroom where a vanity, toilet or towel rail sits close to the shower. A pivot door swings open, so it gives a clearer way in but needs free floor space in front of the screen.

A corner shower screen with sliding doors is the most common type in this range. You can choose a single slider with a return panel, a three-door slider, two centre opening doors on the wider models, or a corner entry pair. Browse all sliding shower screens to compare door styles across other layouts.

A corner shower screen with a pivot door suits a bigger room. The chrome frameless pivot model, for example, opens inwards or outwards. Diamond screens use a pivot door too. See pivot and hinged shower screens for more swing door options.

Most corner shower screens in this collection can be set up to open from the left or the right, so you choose the side on site to suit your taps and drain. Check the door direction notes on each listing.

Frameless or Semi-Frameless Corner Shower Screens

A frameless corner shower screen uses 10mm glass with slim hinges or a top rail, so you see more glass and less metal. A semi-frameless corner shower screen uses 6mm glass in an aluminium frame, which costs less and is lighter to handle. About a third of this collection is frameless.

  • Glass: frameless models use 10mm toughened safety glass; semi-frameless models use 6mm toughened safety glass.
  • Height: the Covey models are 2000mm high. Check each listing for the others.
  • Hardware: the Covey semi-frameless frames are aluminium, and the Covey frameless sliding fittings are stainless steel.
  • Standards: Covey screens use toughened safety glass certified to AS 1288 and AS/NZS 2208.
  • Warranty: listed on each product page.

For the full range in each style, see frameless shower screens and semi-frameless shower screens.

How to Measure for a Corner Shower Screen

A corner shower screen is measured as two sides: the door side and the return side. Measure each side from the tiled wall to the outer edge of the shower base or hob, then order the size range that covers your smallest measurement. Many models let you order the door side and the return side separately.

  • Measure each wall at the bottom, middle and top. Corners are often out of square, and the smallest figure is the one that counts.
  • Check the adjustment range on the listing. Most Covey semi-frameless models allow up to 20mm of wall channel adjustment. Covey frameless sliding models allow up to 10mm with the standard channel, or up to 20mm with the wider channel option.
  • Curved and diamond screens fit within about 10mm either side of their nominal size, so the base must match closely.
  • Glass cannot be cut or drilled after it is made, so confirm your sizes before you order.

If you are unsure which range fits, call our renovation expert team on 0480 746 325 with all six measurements, and we will check them against the listing.

Corner Shower Screen Sizes

Corner shower screen sizes in this collection run from a door side of about 700mm on the smallest pivot models to more than 2,000mm on the widest sliding models. The table shows the ranges in the models below; each listing has the exact options.

For a corner entry screen, start with the matte black semi-frameless double sliding corner shower screen. For a single slider with a return panel, compare the chrome semi-frameless corner sliding door shower screen.

Corner Shower Screen Finishes

Corner shower screens here come in seven finishes: chrome, matte black, brushed nickel, brushed gold, brushed gun metal, brushed brass and brushed bronze. Chrome and matte black have the most models. Brushed brass and brushed bronze are only offered on frameless models.

Match the screen hardware to your shower mixer and rail so the corner reads as one set. Browse matte black shower screens by colour, then pick wall mixer sets in the same finish.

Choosing a Corner Shower Screen

Choosing a corner shower screen comes down to four things: how much floor space sits in front of the shower, the shape of the base, your budget, and how wide the opening is.

  • If your bathroom is small and a vanity sits near the shower, choose a sliding or corner entry screen.
  • If you want the widest way in and have floor space in front, choose a pivot door.
  • If you have a quarter-round base, choose a curved screen. If you have a five-sided base, choose a diamond screen.
  • If you want the least metal on show, choose frameless 10mm glass. If budget matters more, choose semi-frameless 6mm glass.
  • If your shower is wider than about 1800mm, choose a centre opening or frameless sliding model.

Corner Shower Screens FAQs

Are corner entry shower screens any good?

Corner entry shower screens work well in small ensuites. Each side has a fixed panel and a sliding door, and the two doors meet at the corner, so nothing swings into the room. The trade-off is a narrower way in than a full pivot door. Our Covey semi-frameless double sliding models use 6mm toughened glass, and you order each side separately, so a rectangular base such as 1000 x 800mm is easy to fit. Compare them with other sliding shower screens before you decide.

What is the standard size for a corner shower screen?

There is no single standard size for a corner shower screen, because bases and tiled floors vary. In this collection, the curved and diamond screens come in set square sizes of 800, 900 or 1000mm. L-shape and corner entry screens are sold as size ranges, with the door side and return side often ordered separately. Door sides run from about 700mm up to more than 2,000mm on the widest sliding models. Measure each wall at three heights and order the range that covers your smallest figure.

Should I choose a sliding or pivot door for a corner shower?

Choose a sliding door if your bathroom is small or a vanity, toilet or towel rail sits near the shower, because the door stays within the line of the glass. Choose a pivot door if you have clear floor space in front and want a wider way in. Sliding models make up the larger share of this collection, including corner entry, three-door and centre opening styles. For swing doors, see our pivot and hinged shower screens, which include frameless 10mm glass options.

Can I install a corner shower screen myself?

Our Covey corner shower screen listings state that the screen must be installed by a licensed, qualified glazier, and each listing links to its installation manual. Toughened glass cannot be cut or drilled after it is made, and a corner is where out-of-square walls cause the most trouble, so accurate measuring and fitting matter. If you are in Sydney, you can add installation through our bathroom renovation services. A shower base, drain and tapware are not included with any screen in this range.

How much does a corner shower screen cost?

Corner shower screens in this collection are currently listed from $249 to $1,390, based on the lowest option price of each model. Semi-frameless screens in 6mm glass sit at the lower end, led by the Covey double sliding corner entry models. Frameless screens in 10mm glass cost more, and the brushed bronze frameless pivot model sits at the top. The final price depends on the size range and finish, and on whether you add a return panel. See frameless shower screens to compare.
