1700mm Baths FAQs
Is a 1700 bath small?
No. 1700mm is the longest size we stock. A person around 180cm can lie back with legs straight. The trade-off is wall length: you need at least 1.75m clear, plus room for the spout if it is wall-mounted. If the bath has to share a wall with a vanity or shower, 1500mm is the safer size. If the room was planned around a bath, 1700mm is the one to get.
Can I get a bath longer than 1700mm?
Not from our current range. 1700mm is our maximum, across freestanding, back to wall and corner shapes. If you have a wall over 1.9m and want something bigger, the practical answer is a 1700mm freestanding bath placed with space at both ends, which reads as a larger piece than a wall-length bath. The Stella and Olivia ovals, and the Ally fluted oval, work well this way. Ask us before ordering if your room is unusually long.
Which 1700mm baths have an overflow?
The Pilato 1700mm oval freestanding bath, the Bullion and Musen 1700mm back to wall baths and the Nova 1700mm corner baths are listed with an overflow. The Bingie 1700mm corner bath comes with or without one, and the Ellips 1700mm corner bath includes it. On a bath this size an overflow is worth having, because a 1700mm tub holds a lot of water and takes longer to fill, so people tend to walk away from the tap. Check each listing to confirm.
Do you have a 1700mm corner bath in left and right hand?
Yes, every 1700mm corner bath we stock comes in both. That includes the Casey at 520mm and 580mm heights, the Bingie with a skirt, the Clayton, the Elivia and Ellips freestanding corner baths, and the fluted Capri, Binge and Rose. Choose the hand by standing at the doorway and noting which wall the long edge of the bath will run along. A left hand bath runs along the wall to your left. Corner baths cannot be reversed after ordering.
What is the difference between a 1700 freestanding bath and a back to wall bath?
Both stand on the floor without a frame. A freestanding bath is finished on all sides and sits away from the walls, so it needs a floor-mounted or wall-mounted mixer. A back to wall bath has one flat rear edge, so it can sit hard against a wall and use a wall spout, and it takes up less floor space for the same length. At 1700mm the Elivia, Bari, Bullion and Musen are back to wall; the Stella, Pilato, Olivia, Agena and Ally are freestanding.
