FAQs

Should I choose a Wall Hung or a Freestanding (Floor Mount) vanity?

This depends on your plumbing setup and your desired aesthetic.

  • Wall Hung (Floating):The Look: Modern, airy, and creates the illusion of more space by showing more floor tiles.Cleaning: Easy to mop underneath.Installation: Requires waste pipes to go into the wall (P-Trap). You also need solid timber support (noggings) in the wall to hold the weight.

  • Freestanding (Kickboard or Legs):The Look: Traditional or substantial.Storage: Generally offers about 15-20% more storage space because the bottom drawer goes almost to the floor.Renovation Hack: Perfect for covering existing floor plumbing pipes (S-Trap) that come up through the floor, saving you the cost of moving plumbing into the wall.

For a minimalist look, wall hung/floating vanities are the perfect choice, they also provide the illusion of more space in the bathroom due to their floating nature. Don't be concerned about storage in a wall hung vanity, they come with drawer and cupboard configurations that provide plenty of room for your cosmetics and appliances.

Floor standing or freestanding vanities are a great option if you are looking for a full height vanity or have floor plumbing to hide. Providing ample storage, the floor standing vanity also gives a clean modern finish from the end of the vanity, straight to the floor.

Of course, if you like the look of a freestanding vanity with legs, we have some beautiful options. This is a classic design and perfect for those looking to achieve a timeless bathroom design.

Make sure you measure wall-to-wall to make sure you are choosing a design that fits your space. Once you know your size restrictions, it's time to look at your options. Standard sizes include 400mm, 600mm, 750mm, 900mm, 1050mm, 1200mm, 1500mm and 1800mm.

How do I choose between a 750mm and 900mm Shaker vanity?

This is the most common dilemma for standard family bathrooms. It usually comes down to "Clearance" vs. "Bench Space."

  • 750mm: Choose this if you are tight on space beside the toilet or shower. It gives you the Hampton look without making the room feel cramped.
  • 900mm: This is the "Gold Standard" for single vanities. The extra 150mm width gives you significantly more drawer width and valuable benchtop real estate for your toiletries.
  • The Rule: If you have the wall space, always upgrade to the 900mm. You will never regret having extra storage.

If you have the luxury of space, these large sizes make a stunning statement piece.

  • 1500mm Double: The standard size for a comfortable double vanity. Fits two basins with a decent gap in the middle.
  • 1800mm Double: The ultimate luxury. This size usually allows for an extra set of drawers in the centre (between the two basins), giving you incredible storage separation for two people.
  • Visual Balance: Ensure you have huge mirrors (or two large separate mirrors) to balance the scale of an 1800mm unit.
How do I choose between a Ceramic Top and a Stone Top?

This defines the look and the budget of your vanity.

  • Ceramic Top (Integrated): The basin and the benchtop are one single piece of moulded porcelain.Pros: Extremely durable, easy to clean (no silicone joins where dirt can hide), and very affordable. Great for family bathrooms.Cons: Fixed waste position; limited design flexibility.
  • Stone Top (Engineered Stone/Quartz): A flat slab of stone with a separate basin (either sitting on top or undermounted).Pros: Luxurious "hotel" look; allows you to choose any basin shape you like (oval, round, rectangle).Cons: Slightly higher maintenance; requires silicone sealing around the basin.
What makes a vanity "Waterproof" or Moisture Resistant?

Bathrooms are wet, humid zones, so standard cabinetry simply won't last. We use materials designed for the Australian climate.

  • Moisture Resistant (MR) Board: Most quality vanities are made from High Moisture Resistant (HMR) board. This is denser than standard MDF and uses a special resin to repel humidity.
  • PVC Waterproof Vanities: For the ultimate protection, look for our High-Density PVC range. These cabinets are made from a completely synthetic, wood-free material that is 100% waterproof. They will never swell, rot, or bow, making them perfect for wet rooms or kids' bathrooms where splashes are frequent.
My plumbing comes up from the floor. Can I still have a Wall Hung Vanity?

This is a very common renovation challenge.

  • The Issue: Wall hung vanities are designed for pipes that come out of the wall. If your pipes come from the floor, they will be visible underneath the floating cabinet.
  • Solution A (The Fix): A plumber can "chase" the pipes into the wall, but this is expensive and involves re-tiling.
  • Solution B (The Compromise): You can build a small "bulkhead" or box underneath the vanity to hide the pipes, though this ruins the floating look slightly.
  • Solution C (Best Option): Choose a Freestanding Vanity with a Kickboard. The kickboard completely hides the floor plumbing, saving you thousands in plumbing relocation costs.
Do you ship to my location (Regional & Remote Australia)?

Yes, we ship Australia-wide. We have partnered with a network of specialized freight carriers to ensure we can reach not just Metro areas (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth) but also regional and rural towns.

  • Remote Locations: If you live in a remote area (e.g., Northern Territory, Far North Queensland, or regional WA), delivery times will be longer.
  • Quote First: For extremely remote locations or islands, our standard shipping calculator might ask you to "Contact Us for a Quote" to ensure we get you the best possible freight rate.

Shipping costs are calculated based on the size and weight of your order and your postcode.

  • Small Items (Taps, Accessories): These usually ship via Australia Post or StarTrack for a low flat rate or free (depending on current promotions).
  • Bulky Items (Vanities, Baths, Toilets): These must travel on a pallet via heavy goods transport. The price is calculated dynamically at checkout.
  • Tip: To see the exact cost, simply add items to your cart and enter your postcode in the "Shipping Estimator" on the Cart Page. No login required.
